I can't help but think the joke just might be on us here... This kind of thing reminds me of something a Church of the Subgenius family would do to get people thinking how stupid they are when really they know it is fake and just like to see how worked up people get over it. I started to think about this after reading the aluminum deflector beanie pages and stuff. Looks like an inside gag...
