In Loving Memory of Turbo

In Loving Memory of Turbo
I am so sad that I was not able to get home in time to say goodbye to Turbo, he really is the best cat ever. Here is a clip writin by you know who about the best cat in the world.
This past Saturday I had to do what I feel was the hardest decision I have had to do when it comes to my cats, I had to put my cat of 11+ years to sleep
After a short but fatal bout of cancer that came on only in the last few months, Turbo was no longer able to eat or drink. He had 2 major tumors in his throat area that were removed, but found out to me Malignant. After the surgery, he was still having problems eating and was still rather inactive. After another trip to the vet, more tests were run and he was found to be anemic and not building any more red blood cells, the vet concluded that the cancer spread to his liver or bone marrow and it would be fatal. He told me to take him home, keep him comfortable and keep an eye on him for when he starts having problems breathing, as that would be the first sign that he was starting to struggle.
Although the vet did say the tumors were Malignant, he thought that he should be ok, but we would need to keep an eye on him and have to bring him back in if we found any new lumps, I thought this was a little longer lease on life for my cat.
He was making a good recovery, even to the point that he was trying to eat again without me having to feed him by hand. He always had the best tuna sensor, so I was feeding him tuna every day when he wanted it. I was hoping that building up his strength would lead him to a good recovery.
3 weeks later after the diagnosis from the Vet, it was time to take him in and let him finally rest from his ordeal. Friday night he was very weak from not able to eat. I have been feeding him by syringe and baby food as instructed from the Vet. Friday he was having a hard time breathing to the point that he could not swallow because he was breathing so much.
I brought him in Saturday morning and they put him to rest. Below are my favorite pictures of him, he is missed by the rest of his family as well.
and my favorite, I am sorry it is so large, but I dont have a resized pic with me right now
A few of my favorite stores with that cat:
Plotting to get rid of the dog
When I first got him, he came from the pound along with 2 dogs that my roommate at the time wanted. The dogs ended up running off some time later and Turbo was happy he was the only pet in the house. My roommate ended up getting a new puppy for his girlfriend since she was so upset about the dogs running away, he brought home a pit bull (yay) but he was cute.. as a puppy.
turbo was not happy with the new dog and didn't want to have anything to do with him. One day we were sitting in the front room with the puppy on the floor playing with a chew toy when turbo walks down the hallway and lies next to the dog. I look at him and I notice he has my watch in his mouth (!!!) and puts the watch next to the dog and starts to chew on the armband. After the dog has watched the cat do this for a few moments, he decides that the watch is more fun of a toy then his squeaky and grabs the watch from Turbo. At that exact moment, Turbo turns into an air raid siren and tries to alert all of us that are watching both of them, that the dog is now chewing the watch and that something should be done about this.
If I didn't have people around to witness the event, there is no way anyone would believe me about this.
mm.. chicken
So we had some KFC the night before and had left the remains in the garbage can in the kitchen. we were a messy bunch at my old house, so we had a 55 gallon trash can in the kitchen so that we didn't leave our mess everywhere. We were in the family room watching TV when one of the other cats, Nitro, walks in and starts screaming for attention. This cat has always been a pet *****, but this time, he REALLY wanted to be pet. After petting him for a bit he would not leave us alone, screaming and trying to be all cute to keep our attention. At this time, my Fiancee noticed out of the corner of her eye something in the kitchen. Below is my MS paint drawing of the layout of my old house
so as you can see, we can clearly see the kitchen from where we are sitting. All of a sudden we see chicken bones being thrown out of the garbage can. We get up to go investigate and Nitro starts screaming his head off to warn whatever was in the Garbage can. We see Turbos head pop up and out of the can like nothing happened. There were a few chicken bones on the kitchen floor now and Nitro runs over to one and lays on top. Nitro weights about 25lbs and if we didn't see him lay on top of the bone, there would have been no way to know what was under him.
Turbo actually was able to have Nitro distract us as he went in to get the chicken out of the trash can. We never left chicken in the trashcan again, it went directly outside. Once again, if I didn't have someone there to be a witness, no way would anyone have ever believed me that happened
Turbo was my first cat after moving out on my own, I will miss him, more and more each day
