You cannot own or re-sell pre-production press cars, btw.

very true,
Back at my old job we had a pre-production WRX which was used for Press. Interior was different, as in plastic.
Do what alex says and post the pic, we'll know from there what it is.

what makes you think i can't sell it?I have an MSO and it SMOGed when i bought it.
I was told that most press cars are crushed after they are used because they are never issued a VIN but mine has a VIN tag so thats why it wasn't crushed... I don't know thats just what i was told.

I am sorry to inform you, but there is nothing special about your car. You don't have a preproduction car. Pre-production cars do not have VIN# stamped on the badge. They carry no VIN and in case they are registered, they get an "assigned" VIN#.
Your car is a regular 2.5L US Spec STi. 2004 Model year (2003 production) NON-Spec C Spec. Your transmission is a 6MT with rear LSD and no front LSD.
That's all.
I might be confused. But, what was your question to begin with? If you are asking what your car is, it is a MY04 STi. Regular US Spec.

as far as it being a preproduction car... I bought it with 14K miles with an MSO not a pink it was sold as a new car directly from SOA not a dealer. I was on NASIOC when i first bought it and recieved an internal memo from SOA about a recall on all the preproduction STis... My VIN was on the list as one of the cars not effected. apparently SOA built some press cars for longterm testing (preproduction) and Gave them VINs... That is what I was told from SOA in New Jersey when I bought the car.
I could be totaly wrong... but that is what i was told....
as far as the Spec C... I recently renewed my Service policy and i got a printout... it says at the top of the printout SPEC C???
I'm still puzzled? I can email you the PDF of the printout...

hi to all, i may be new here, but i have been in the automotive industry for years and in order for a car to be a 04 model with a 03 production the date must start in june (06/03) and continue towards 04. this car is classed as a 2003 by US standards.this cars production date is 01/03.just my $.02
