How effective is Goo-Gone on Plasti Dip?

So I dipped my wheels a few months ago and finished up with a little bit of glossifier. I have not tried peeling it off yet but i'm sure it won't be much of a problem since I did some extra thick coats to finish it off. I'm going to powder coat my wheels gold soon, but i'm going to peel off my white dip first. Original color of my wheels are gun metal. Basically just looking for the easiest way to peel it off, I heard Goo-Gone is very effective.

Thanks in advance Subie family!

Sure that is my case too, but I looked up some videos and the guy sprayed Goo-Gone on his rims and it basically ate up the dip. Wondering if anyone else had nice results with use Goo-Gone. Just trying to find the most productive way to strip it.

not as effective as a pressure washer. blew the plastidip off my old wheels pretty instantaneously.

try the goo gone then. it should come right off tho. if you peel it off and there is still gunk left behind use some simple green or something alone those lines

googone and wd40 work about equally. i just got the 2011 wrx rims which are a pain in the *** to remove plastidip. for narrow area like around the lugnuts googone/wd40 is really helpful. just use a rag and rub furiously. I let it sit for a minute before going at it. my friend has a pressure washer though so i'm gonna try that out for the remaining rims.

Pressure washer doesn't do anything, I use it to wash my car all the time. Maybe your dip was peeling already and that is why the pressure washer was effective?

I use simple green to wash the dipped white rims in general, i'll have at it with goo gone spray if tearing becomes a hassle.

Nice! This is what I wanted to hear. I'll use goo gone and let it sit for a bit and hopefully it amazes me when I get to rubbing. Hopefully the areas in between the lug nuts won't be as hard to get out.

Took all 4 wheels off today and peeled off the Plasti Dip clean. Goo Gone was not needed until I got to the lug nut area which was a ***** to take off. Overall i'm happy with how easy Plasti Dip is to peel off. Powder Coating wheels soon (-: !
