Is this the "center exhaust pipe" the same thing as a "midpipe"? It doesn't look that simple...especially the pic where the car is up on a lift. Is it possible to do this with just jacks and jackstands?

*cprrection* on that pic there is the center pipe and the mid pipe.. which shold be lables "stock down pipe" those 2 pieces u leave intact since they have cats in the... take off the axle back and then the next piece which is basically a straight pipe with a resonator

Removing or bypassing your muffler is illegal. All motor vehicles are required to have a "muffler-type device" and turbos are specifically excluded from the definition of "muffler."

as far as I know removing your muffler IS illegal, but as long as it will pass emissions and be under like 93 decibals (not likely ) you should be ok. I disconected mine for a day or so before I got my catback and recieved a few dirty looks from the local constabal so I ended up reconnecting it. To answer your question, yes, it's very very loud.
