HoD Breast Cancer Fundraiser at T-Hill Pics (56k no wai)
In honor of my late grandmother, I try to support breast cancer research fundraisers as much as possible. A couple days ago I heard about a track day event at Thunderhill, and that they would be offering rides in cars for a $50 donation straight to the foundation. The cars included on the website were: Ariel Atom, Ferrari F430, etc. So I really wanted to ride in the Atom and wouldn't have minded the Ferrari. When I got there, I was pleased to find out that the donation rides were 30 minutes and you got a few laps in multiple cars.
Since the Atom blew an exhaust gasket early in the day, it was out of commission, so I got a ride in an Exige driven by one of the coaches. That car is straight nuts. It handled amazingly well and the driver was phenomenal. I was impressed to say the least. Anyway, here are some pictures from the day.
Followed this Flying Spur for a ways while driving up there:
Jaguar XJ220:
NSX:
A couple older Porsches:
I hoped to see this make a few laps... it didn't:
GT3:
M4 Coupe:
Ariel Atom I hoped to ride in, and the Lotus I got to ride in (Jack, GET one.):
Carrera GT (tried to snag a ride in this, but failed. It sounded AWESOME, though!):
big brakes:........................................... ...................... rear vents:
Audi R8 (I think it looks awesome):
A few more pictures are on my flickr here (will link when done uploading).
