the stocker motor is pretty damn strong... as long as it's tuned good and your motor is strong, you won't have any problems with that for thing for a pretty long time!!
there is someone doing 10.3's on the stock motor, says alot of what it's capable of doing....
but you should still get it built so then me and you can go MarkSTi hunting

look at my motor... it lasted almost a year(still was pulling strong so it might have lasted longer) and that was on a weaker then hell STi motor...
but of course you will put down ALOT more power with a built motor(get to add more timing )
