Front Sway Bar?

Is there an after market front sway bar for the 98-01 impreza's? All i can find is the rear.

a good rule is if you are not hitting 120+ mph on the front straight, then tune with the rear sway bar first

I see. I was just looking around cuz for Stock classes in Autox they said you can use any front sway bar but not change the rear. Is it even worth getting? If so i cannot find an aftermarket one.

Several companies make front sway bars for your car, like Whiteline and Cusco. You need the bar with the 98-01 RS fitment, which covers all non-turbo 93-01 Imprezas.

Your rear swaybar should be 13mm stock, in case you didn't know.

I'll let someone else chime in on the benefits of upgrading just your front bar.

If you want to run G Stock, prepare for a car that isn't very fun to drive and can't catch the Minis. ****ing Minis...

Anyway. I strongly recommend running in STS or D Street Prepared, because those classes allow you a lot more fleixibility with mods to make the car fun to drive, like coilovers (or just springs and/or struts) and a rear sway, intake and header, etc.

IPd (rallitek.com) makes a great looking front and rear sway bar combo, it comes with rear endlinks and rear sway bar mounts. You don't need to swap to the front turbo crossmember either to put on the front sway bar, which can be a problem if you go with a Cusco bar. Whiteline will fit too, but those bars rust easily (I dunno why???).

I see, I have looked up cusco. But there front sway bars are for WRX/STI Model. I will look again though and try looking up white line and ralli tek.

I was thinking of bumping up to sts as well, but i am not sure if i got the funds to back it up. There are not many intake mods for the Ej22 im assuming because it has and airflow meter. But there are alot of other suspension and exhaust components. Just need Deeper pockets.

Which sway bar would be the best choice. Their sizes go from 20-22mm. one of the 22mm is adjustable is that always better?

I recommend adjustable over non-adjustable, simply because it's like buying 3 sway bars at once, and it saves you from having to figure out exactly what size you want before hand. You will end up not adjusting it much after you have tried all 3 settings, but it's still worth it.

I just got it yesterday. Damn thats a big box. But I did not order stronger endlinks Doh! Whitline offers two kinds for thier front bars. And upgraded one and a heavy duty one. I am leaning towards the heavy duty one since im going to be drinving the car hard, but is that overkill?

yes they make quite a few front bars for the gc crowd. the car is going to understeer more at the limit, but your lap times will go down. get the whiteline HD set, the regular ones arent worth the the time especially when the HD are just a little bit more.
