I tried the one by my house and they said they were out. plus the guy quoted me 100 over the phone and in stock but when I went in, he said 200+ and didn't have it in stock. unless non-oem would work just fine? but it was 85+ for the bosch at autozone so i figured a few dollars extra for original would be a better deal.

I just bought a Bosch one cas no one else locally had one. well it didnt resolve the problem so now i need more help. it still sputters and smells a little. my engine seems fine but my exhaust is sputtering....any ideas to what is wrong? it just recently got this way....

This is the problem:
car spitting and sputtering, losing power, smelling fumes.

Things i changed:
spark plugs
spark plug wires
pcv valve
front oxegen sensor

all this didnt help cure the problem...i retighten the axcel back last night and now this morning it just wont run...did the spark plugs on sat and everything else tonight...car has been spitting and losing air or power when i get into higher rpm...any clues???

Sounds like it might be your AFM (MAP sensor on that car, I believe) but it gets expensive to throw parts at a problem, you're better off having a good tech diagnose it.

I'd hit up Paul to see when he could take a look at it; it will save you money in the long run.

I'd take it to him but he's too far for me and my car barely runs so I can't even drive it far or I'm afraid it will die on me and then cops might stop me and give me a ticket for my exhaust and or cai.

Any MIL codes?

When did the car start running like poo?
Do any work to before she started to act up?

What are the symptoms?
Where did you read how to fix the car?

i have no MIL codes for it. the car started running that way a month ago when i got back from vacation. it started popping when i was accelerating. then the problem remained and i thot it was jus the axel back loose but that didnt solve it. then it got worse on mon night when i retightened the bolts on the axel back. now it jus pops and smells....

the symptons are popping noise like im losing air somewhere cas it just keeps popping and i lose power. smells fumes too...now it just keeps sputtering from my exhaust and when i give it gas, the rpm just drops back down like its gonna die....

read all this on high mileage tune up on DIY on rs25.com

no AAA, I have 21st

Did you change the air filter?

If so, I know what the problem is.

Please call 791 4900....and have a credit card ready.

Did you remove any portion of the CAI when doing the tune up?
If so, look at all of the PCV system lines. Betcha one or more is loose/disconnected.

no, didn't remove any portion of the CAI....i just removed the hose on the pcv valve and retighted it....the CAI i got has 4 hoses instead of 3 for my car. even tho its a 99 it has some 2000 parts on it. like the rear brakes so the CAI i got was for a 00-01.
