South Florida has a motorcycle problem, and lawmakers are introducing legislation to show bikers that they'll go a long way to punish those who break the rules. Stunt riding (including wheelies), excessive speeding, and concealable license plates will get you a 10 year ban on your motorcycle license, mandatory jail time, and an impounded bike. If the punishment sounds like the medieval practice of cutting off the hand of a man for stealing, that's exactly how State Representative Carlos Lopez-Cantera wants it.

Lopez-Cantera witnessed firsthand a variety of incidents during which reckless behavior was on display, including bikers flying down the highway at 120 mph, high speed wheelies, and more. Police officers can't even run plates since bikers will often flip them up to avoid detection, and it's very difficult to catch a motorcycle on the open road with a squad car. We like motorcycles, even though our focus is on cars, and it's disappointing to see that things have apparently gotten so out of hand in South Florida that draconian enforcement policies are being seriously discussed.

hmm... 10 years for a wheelie.... wow... what a dip****

Great. Let's take motorcycle licenses away from the group of people that statistically has a very high rate of not having a license.

AUGUSTA, Ga. — A 22-year-old woman fatally stabbed her two young children in a convenience store bathroom Thursday, police said.

A worker at Food Mart told police she saw Jeanette Michelle Hawes enter the restroom Thursday afternoon with the two children, a boy and girl, and then heard a scream, Richmond County Sheriff Ronnie Strength said.

The worker called 911, and when deputies arrived they forced the door open and found Hawes on the floor, holding a steak knife and covered in the children's blood, Strength said.

Jordon Hawes, 1, and Shakayla Hawes, 3, were pronounced dead upon arrival at the Medical College of Georgia Hospital. Both died of stab wounds to the chest, Chief Deputy Coroner Mark Bowen said.

Hawes was charged with two counts of murder and with possession of a knife during the commission of a crime. She was being held at the Richmond County jail.

Jail officials said they did not know whether Hawes had an attorney. A message seeking comment left late Thursday at the Richmond County Sheriff's Office wasn't immediately returned.

Store clerk Amanda Thomas said Hawes was a regular customer.

"Michelle went to the bathroom, and I heard the children crying," Thomas told WAGT-TV.

A moment later, Thomas said, "I heard a different sound that didn't sound right. I went back there to get the door opened and I couldn't get it opened and I didn't hear anything."

Yeah i dont think someone that does wheelies down the freeway at 100mph is really too concerned about having a license... esp since you really dont have to stop unless you want to anyways

seriously... all that is going to do is promote bikers from running from the police... such sound logic... If I was facing 10 years without a license and jail time because I got caught doing a wheelie, I'd flip the cop off throw something at him and wave good bye... No way in **** I would stop

Found this on SCS:

Haha, it is real. I know the guy. His name is Robert and he also owns a **** company called FTVgirls.com. He and I are decent friends and we hung out at SEMA this year. Coincidentally, he was arrested yesterday because of that video. He is being charged in AZ with a number of crimes related to that speed record attempt.

more to come on the news tonight probably
