First results for the 05 STI reflash and tune
so the 05 software came in and I get to be the test mule so that we don't blow up a customer car.
I am rather pleased with the results. This is on a bone stock car with only a K&N drop in filter, which I am sure is not making any difference over the stock unit. Nate wanted me to drive it around for a few days and then we will dyno it again. ECUTek said they see 10-15 more HP a few days later after a tune from the car learning, we shall see if that happens with my car.
After another few pulls, time to throw on the TurboXS turboback and see what kind of numbers we can get.. at this rate, I would assume another 25 should be easy out of the exhaust alone...
Nate thinks there is still some more that can be made.. AFRs are still rich around 10.8:1. Have to see how she likes the turboback
The last pull made tonight
overlay of the first baseline and then the last pull
screenshot of the last pull
Graph of the first baseline, then right after the reflash and then after Nate messed with the tune a bit.

Wow! 240 at the wheels, and it will adjust another 10? Sounds good to me...I can;t wait to get down there Thursday...
Also, are the 05's running less power? My 04 Dyno'd a 230 and then a 222 stock, why is the 05 baseline only a 209? That seems off to me. Anyway...

Scott was saying that there was a problem with misfiring on the '05 here in CA because of the low octane gas, so they (SOA?) did some reflash (?) so that the car fires sooner, thus making the '05 STI's slower then it should be.
Did I make any sense there? I am trying to learn and pay more attention but I am not sure I am paying attention to the right things. I have ADD when it comes to car stuff

the 05s are way down on power, I thought they would dyno even lower then the 210, and Matt, your car was blessed since the other guys from reno were dynoing around 210-220 that day.. stop showing off :P

well there was not a det problem with the 05's, that was with the 04's, but to make sure it didn't happen again, Subaru had some funky tune with the 05. Take a look at the stock Dyno run and how it dips down.. pulling serious timing to stop ping up top there.

Awesome numbers with just a reflash. Those are the same numbers my old modified wrx had, and that car felt really fast. Mods on that car were sti injectors, 255 lph pump, vf34, turbo back echaust, sti intercooler, lightweight pulley etc. Pretty amazing to match those numbers with just a filter and flash on the first try. Nice work, I'm in Friday. I'm still debating on whether to wait for my headers to come in first though. Oh and Scott, stay away from my gauges!
