deede, if you dont want to touch the money you should start a CD with ingdirect for a even higher apy

+1 on the ING account...

Although I agree saving money is a great thing to do, it is silly to do if you have debt that has a higher rate than your savings. I know people that have 20k in savings making 2% and owe 15k on credit cards at 9%...

yes open a 5 or 10 year CD.

That way you get pwned for trying to touch your loot.
