Financial Help

1. Does anyone have a favorite Credit Union they use here in Sacramento?

2. Is there any reason to keep open an account that I held in good standing since 1999? Is there any benefit for my credit?

Thank you!

Deede

You could try Golden one.
I've heard good things from them.
Or SafeCU

Both are good.

I use BofA for my main banking, but my car is financed through California Community Credit Union. They're really small, but REALLY nice people. Accessibility may be an issue

The other Aaron has had problems, yes, but a lot of us are really happy. I've had an account for over 10 years now with absolutely no issues.

That's what I do. I have $1000 in an account there and I don't even have an ATM card for it. The only time I can get money out is when they're open, which conflicts very much with my work hours

Though if you're going to just hoard money, you should check out www.ingdirect.com (if you sign up with them tell me first so I can refer you ). The interest rate on their normal savings account is 3.15% right now. I put $6k in that account and made almost $13 in one month in interest alone

A bay area CU? Maybe I'll just open one up in Reno. The Bay Area is scary.

Speaking of which anyone interested in going to SF this weekend? I got to pick up some new carpet for the car.

Can you set up direct deposite at ing? I don't have a large stash of cash yet. Trying to take care of some mini goals first, then i'll start major saving. It's all about the baby steps.

yes after you setup an acccount you need to print and fill out a page of paper work and give it to your employer

you'll never need to go to the branch.
The cool thing about them is that they are a CO-OP.

Oh and there is a branch in Folsom.

You get a lot of perks with that credit union though. All you need is 25 bucks to open an account.
Free atm card
Free checking account. No monthly fee's No min balance, Free financal advice..
ect..
