Erickson, Donahue fired from SF 49ers

Shooting the messenger for bad news if you ask me. Dr. York says "only experienced NFL coaches with successful track records" will be considered.

Ummm, gee, how many of those do you think are out there without jobs already, einstein?

Discuss.

Never entrust your football team to your sister during an FBI probe of your illegal Louisiana gambling dealings...

So much for the "experienced NFL coaches with proven records" bit. Romeo Crennell, Patriots defensive coordinator, is going to interview for the job. When Steve Mariucci was fired in 2002, Crennell was the leading candidate after several rounds of interviews, before Erickson was given the position at the last minute after a single brief meeting with the Yorks and Terry Donahue. I'm surprised he even returned their calls.

Search is over- Mike Nolan, Baltimore ravens Defensive coordinator, and student of Ray Lewis, was chosen as successor to Dennis Erickson.

I find it odd htat they're hiring coach first, GM second.
