Now we're talking, dude

My wife used to work for Progressive insurance out in Rancho (like 4-5 years ago) and they were paying $12/hr for phone support people. It wasn't even technical and they put you through all the training you need.

When I worked for Comp USA in '98 as an A+ certified tech I was making $10.25/hr. I don't know what the pay would be like now.

If I were you and had some good experience in tech stuff, I'd look in to phone support/help desk, tech or not. You usually get pay AND benefits in that way. I'll check our job listings for anything like that.

Just a tip...make sure your resume/cover letter has better spelling/grammar than your posts.

Aliens..... But seriously i've known lots of people and myself included. Applied and wasn't good enough because i didn't pass their lame personality test. Thats why i say they don't hire people.

We have hired our last several IT staff from the outside starting at $60k/year. It can be done. It's called hiring above minimum (salary).

If you are truly interested in working for the state, invest the $75 bucks and take this seminar. Ignore the dates, they offer the seminar about once month or so.

I wish I'd known about that 10 years ago. I had to learn the hard way. I started as a student assistant, but have been promoted 4 times, so far.

Alright well thanks guys.
Surewest hires tech support, wireless, and customer service dudes all the time. Pretty sure they start at $11-13 an hour.

I can find out more if you're interested. PM me.

Also, most grocery stores pay more than $10. My buddy is a utility clerk (janitor) for $14 an hour at a grocery store.

If i stick with Krispy Kreme for 2 years i could make 13/hr but i don't have time to wait around 2 years. Not that im picky, its just i am currently living with friend's parents.

Thanks you guys for your support in all this. You guys give me hope that Sacramento is an alright place
