Why are so many of us on call? Do we really matter that much? I guess there are a bunch of bad-asses around here. My day also started with a phone call at 5 AM. It's not the early wake-up that bugs me, it's the unexpected randomness of the call.

Serious. I get owned becuase I'm the only one here after-hours (or rather, I was) so if something comes up after I go home, or on the weekend, it's my guys who call me because they don't know what to do. Beats the hell out of sitting on hot issues and having to explain it the next day, though.
