When I worked (2 years ago) I got a $500 bonus each year plus a raise, the ladies that had been there longer got between $1000 - $3000 plus a raise, there was also treats like fancy dinner, nice Christmas gift and stuff like that. You knew they didn’t want you there anymore when your bonus sucked and you didn’t get a raise.

This was a small company though, so a couple grand isn’t too hard to swing, but larger companies would have to put out a **** load of money to give a nice bonus.

Before the company I worked for in roseville closed I got a $5500 bonus for christmas once, and was supposed to get 7500 the next year. But the new office I was transfered to decided unemployment would be better for me

Yeah, well... kinda. Cash sharing comes in early Novemer (conviently, right before I got hired here).

So, its not really a Christmas bonus, or a holiday bonus, but the company gives a good chunk of its over-expectation profits to the employees, and it happens about a month before Christmas.

Oh yeah, I did get a bonus once. It wasn't for Christmas though, and all I had to do was work 18 hour days 6 days a week for 3 weeks straight!

Actually, it ended up being worth it. I got $1800 cash money (which I turned in to a WRX) and a free trip to New Orleans for a week of partying..err, an IBM conference.
