Dealer advice in the Sacramento area for purchasing an STi
I am currently looking for a good Sacramento area dealer to do business with on a new STI. If anyone knows of any fair dealerships that sell for MSRP or even invoice, please speak up.
For anyone who cares here is a little background about myself since this is my first post here. I am 24, a senior at CSUS majoring in Computer Science and over the summer I finally got my first "big" job. Over the past 4 years I have been waiting for the STI to make its way over seas and when it eventually did, I wasn't making enough to afford it. Long story short, as a graduation present to myself I will be financing an STI under my own name 100% (no co-signer) because I can now afford it comfortably.
Last week I went to the Roseville auto mall and had a deal to get an Aspen White STI. When I say “I had a deal,” I mean I signed everything. i.e. The car legally was mine. I couldn't drive it off the lot because I couldn't get it insured by AAA until Monday. When Monday came around they called me up and stated that the deal was off and to get the car they would need my mother to co-sign to "make the bank feel safer," or come up with an $8,000 down payment. After hearing over 10 “re-offers” on my voicemail on Monday I decided to not do business with them.
Sorry for the long story, and if you made it this far let me say that I am not in any huge hurry to take delivery. I do not mind putting a down payment on a vehicle that will not show up for several weeks. Currently I have made a contact with a Shingle Springs internet sales manager named Aaron.
BTW, I am a former VW addict See below link of my car.

I have hard good things about the Subaru dealer in Auburn (Gold Rush Subaru I think). Stay away from Maita. Shingle Springs I think is ok too.
Good luck getting your car. Once you do you'll have to come out to a meet

The same thing happened with me at Roseville Subaru. I will never go there again. It actually happened twice, both times I had driven away with the car. I put over 1000 miles on a 2003 2.5RS by the time they called me the first time.

I got mine at Autowest in Roseville for below invoice the same day I came in just to browse. The service and staff are great. IMHO, they had the largest selection (ie- 7 STi's on the lot).

Maita is ok, I've bought my last 2 cars from there (wrx and STi), but the dealer I worked with no longer works there (I think). So, things may have gone bad. Their service dep got better with new managment. I just was there and talked to both service manager and SOA regional manager about STi det issues. Drew give Maita a try (ask for Chris Jones if he is still there) and it is about time you got rid of that 337. :P
