Attn: SRIC kids..........the new rules.
I'm starting to get really bothered with how we're handling new people. People ask questions and get made fun of instead of getting help, people post experiences and get ripped on for other people's entertainment. It's no longer a place that welcomes new people into the community, it drives them away, and that's bull**** and not the way it should be. I'm tired of people competing for the best burn on a new guy.
Now, I'm not saying "I'm going to ban people for trolling" or "you can't tease your friends", but all I see is people talking **** about people they've never even met, making generalizations based on race, creed, etc, and that will not continue to fly. Everyone here was new once. Yes, most of the peope still here have a thick skin becuase that's the way stuff was going, but it's unnecessary and does a disservice to this community. New guys should be able to come here and meet people and ask questions and post up without getting ripped apart becuase of what you see as a dumb quesiton or a poor choice. Yes, it's not a tech forum, yes, we're going to be modding more stuff to try to help, but goddamn......try to not be *******s 100% of the time, alright?
I'm directing this at everybody, with no exceptions. Quit being dicks where it's not merited. Be the bigger man. Help out a new guy when he has a question instead of driving him away. People have their differences. We're gonna bust on our friends, sure, but if you don't know the person, quit laying into them. If they're not your friend, lay the **** off, I'm tired of this bull**** and I'm not the only one.
Kapish?
Thanks.

i predict a serious decline in the quantity of posts in the daily thread.
what's been bugging me lately is that half the drama started in this joint is started by members who are still pretty much n00b's or "out of towners" bringing their crap here cuz other forums are tired of it.

No seriously though. I agree with Aaron. I know its all fun and games between people that know each other and long time members, but the n00b hazing is a bit ridiculous at times. Stupid questions, stupid answers. But good decent questions should get decent answers.
