Anyone having overheating issues?

So it's like 110 and I turn my a/c on... the needle starts creeping up.

I can't put it higher than 2 without it starting to toast the car in this heat. Is anyone else having this problem?

This heat just isn't letting the car cool down.

Don't know. Not a big AC guy. When I did use it though I never had a problem.

I saw the needle crawl up a bit past the normal spot when i was stuck in traffic at 110 degrees with the ac on full blast.

Yeah, it was in stop and go traffic. It also happened at Hammy. I got scurred and dropped the a/c down.

no problems here yet, taking it back in soon for the dreaded tapping noise again and harsh AC engagement.. im pretty sure my car isnt supposed to hiccup when the ac turns on, and im pretty sure its not supposed to tap its way around town

Im having major overheating issues.... im leaking about 3 gallons of water a day but if i put my visor up to keep cool i get bugs in my teeth

but no the car is fine, in 110 heat in traffic the needle stays solid. sounds like you have some kind of cooling issue, maybe a thermostat? try flushing you coolant.

Not like my bucket is a good indicator, but I started heating up climbing out of the Bay on 680, it got up to about 3/4 before I noticed and flipped the AC off. I was on cruise, and it was lugging going up the hill under heavy load at around 65-70. It dropped back down, but was still a few notches up and would drop and rise a hair depending on load.

What's weird is that turning off AC didn't make a difference, just load, and going faster didn't cool it down. I stopped to pay the toll, and it dropped to one notch above normal and stayed there, then I was home in another 5 minutes with no other rises. It only spiked that once, and as soon as I got home, I flipped the car off and back on, and it settled immediately into normal temp even idling in a hot garage and hasn't deviated since. I'm inclined to think an air bubble, or maybe the temp sensor just freaking out a bit, as the car didn't boil over when it "got hot" or anything, either

Who knows, I know I've run up and down the grapevine and around in Palm Springs during 125+ degree days in the summer in the wagon with no problems, so I'm just keeping an eye on it.

My biggest problem is that I have to be moving at a decent clip to get any AC action, it won't pull enough air through the condenser to cool in this heat when I'm stopped. My AC system isn't quite what it used to be.

FWIW, the fan setting shouldn't make any difference with the AC system, as the clutch is engaged and the heat exchangers are going no matter what if it's on.....

Is it getting hotter or flat out over heating?

It's just getting hotter... it didn't happen yesterday, but I wasn't going over any hills or anything either.

Thanks for the phone call Paul.
