Go up 80 and take the yuba gap exit, its about 20 miles before truckee.. go south when you get off the exit and follow the road down until you come to a junction, make a right on lake valley rd. Its a good 1 1/2 hours away i would say but its worth it.

pass up the first left and keep going until you come up to a left turn on a dirt road, take that left

The line on the top marks the path you take if you make a left, the line on the bottom is if you keep going straight. The box on the far right is the detail area for the next pic.

There are enough dirt roads in this area to keep you busy for a whole weekend, or at least until you break your car or run into something i used to ride ATV's out there a lot and ive been on pretty much all the roads around there, some of them you can follow for many many miles off into the mountains, lots of fun. Of course you can only go up there in the warm months because that area is probably under 20ft of snow by now...

Edit: you might want to take a GPS with you also so you can find your way back

haha, Bird Flu is a joke. 90% of the birds in your local reserve, pond, park have a string of Bird Flu.

At least you would have something to eat while you were wandering around for 3 days trying to find the freeway

I think he's trying to prevent any traffic from ruining your tuning sessions.
