keep in mind the vinyl /asphalt stuff is dampener, not sound deadening.

it will dampen vibration, and reduce sound slightly.

a sound deadener will typically have several layer of foam, a layer of lead or aluminum perhaps.... and also the vinyl backing.

This I did not know/notice. Thanks for the clarification. And as you can see, it performs better with heat. Unlike Dynamat.
