Introducing AutoxLogger (an autocrossing application for your iPhone & iTouch)
hey all,
I would like to introduce a new iPhone application that I have been working on while looking for new work. AutoXLogger is not your typical performance tool that strictly measures GPS and accelerometer data, at least not yet. What AutoXLogger allows you to do is track the details of your setup to your lap times. How many of you make changes to the tire pressures while on grid? How often do these changes in pressures result in improved times? With AutoXLogger you can track these changes to your setup in an easy to use UI
This release is a beta release, or the official "I need a job and I can do iPhone development" release and I have many more features that are in development but didn't make the first cut
Check it out on iTunes: http://www.AutoXLogger.com

I hope you all enjoy it, I have been working pretty hard to get this out in a timely fashion.

Nice work Chris!
Now, anything you can do to use faster GPS? The Iphone is only 1Hz, and just tooooo slow for logging. Can you make it so that my iphone will blutooth connect to my 5hz GPS receiver? That's what I'm doing with MaxData on my PDA.

there is nothing we can do with the internal GPS other than use it to identify the location. I figure the internal GPS should be good enough to retrieve the weather or give you directions to the event.
other than that, it's pretty useless for what we need. I plan on integrating an external GPS in a future release. (sooner than later I hope)
I think the accelerometer should be OK, I need to do more testing with it to see what kind of granularity we can get with it. It does have problems with sensitivity, but I think I can filter out the bad results with software once I understand how the accelerometer reacts in autocross conditions.
