I NEED racing stuff, well tips anyway
Sorry mods if this isnt in the right spot. it seemd right at the time
(half bottle of jager later)
So I am getting back into the NASA racing this year after missing a year to watch my son grow up a bit. gonna hit a couple HPDE 2's to get in the swing but will be doing mostly time trial and pry no competition but i need some accesory tips
#1 got a new helmet: YAY!!
PYROTECT PRO airflow (SA 2005)
-large eyeport for my glasses
-compatible with bell products
so i am good to go there
however i am getting so new stuff i havent had before and i need some advice on what had worked for your guys/gals
#2 need racing/fire suit
nothign fancy but until now its been long sleeve shirt and jeans until now
-single layer is fine
-def want fire retardant
-preferably under $200
#3 4 or 5 point direct bolt on to stock anchors harness
5 point would be preferable to prevent submarining but i would prefer something that wouldnt require to much modification as i dont want to alter the interior of the car just yet
preferably under $250
now before i hear a bunch of bs about i shouldnt put aprice on safety, can that ****. i am a dad on a budget trying to get out of the house. and those 2 upgrades are better than the long sleeve with jeans and stock 3 point seatbelt i have been using
any help you guys can give me and good prices would be greatly appreciated
TIA

i think imma go with one of the schroth belts you mentioned
i was looking at them how do they attach? it looks like maybe to the latch system in the back seat and the belt points in the front but i cant find a clear description.

heres a tip:
buy a miata so you dont ruin your daily driver
*edit*
also careful with a full 5 point harness. if you dont have a cage it can actually be worse in a roll over. every year theres a few people that break their necks because the roof collapses and their body cant flex out of the way.
if i had had 5 points in my accident me and rabbit would probly be dead. well probly just me im taller than he is.

so do i want a 1 piece or 2 piece suit.
i am thinking 2 piece cuz most racing is during the summer and would be easy to lose the jacket
however is there a safety advantage to getting a 1 piece

Wine Country Motorsports at Infineon commonly has gear at great discounts. I got a 3 piece Sparco suit for a few hundred (75% off or so). Other stuff routinely on sale. It's worth a drive up...
