Any Auto-X-ers in the Atlanta or Charlotte areas?
If there are any people around those areas, please let me know. I want to start auto-xing (unfortunately, there's no telling when the car will be in) and I would really appreciate it if someone wouldn't mind spending some time with me to help me learn. I will still wind up taking the advance handling course here in Atlanta, but I'd like to get a good feel for what I'm doing as early as possible. If anyone's interested, please let me know!
Thanks.. Miranda

Atlanta: http://www.atl-scca.org/
East Tennessee: www.etrscca.org
South Carolina: http://www.scr-scca.com
Chattanooga: http://www.rivergate5speed.com/scca/index.html
All these clubs autocross, and you can ask around about other clubs through the scca members, since most are part of some other club also.
Hope that helps

Find out when the next event is, get a few books from the library, or amazon, and show up. SCCA'ers tend to be pretty nice folks, and there's almost always a novice coach at events. It's pretty cheap to get involved, about $40 for a day, including registration, lunch, water, gas, and air for the tires.
read this: http://www.etrscca.org/soloii/handbook/handbook.htm
Good luck!
PS: try to show up early, that way you make registration in time, and don't end up just watching.

Hey y'all!
Yeah, just started autocrossing myself. We usually run at Turner Field, in the Green lot. Here's the link to the schedule:
http://www.atl-scca.org/soloII/rungroups.htm
You want the 'points events'. Or at least as far as I can figure that's what newbies (like me) want to run in. Also, we're sponsored by Apex bennifits, & you can find most of the local info on their page at:

(Scroll down to the motorsports link)
There's an event this weekend, but I can't make it (plus it's in Alabama). Next event is the 2nd week in August. It's a newbie training school plus another event, I hope to make both. Even if you don't feel like running, drop by & see what it's all about. I'll be the idjut in the blue WRX with magnetic numbers printed via inkjet (yeah, not exactly world class artistry there, but they do work...)
