Yes...I know how you guys felt Friday and Saturday...I am ready for hot and dry conditions. I went to my son's baseball game the other day and it happen again wet and cold...
I was on the finish control at Magic Mtn and boy it was cold and wet. My clothes were drenched....but that is rallying you take it in the cold/wet or hot/cold/dry conditions. This was the first time in the 10 years I have been working on this event as a co-organizer that it rained the way it did or be so cold. Now I know it has been cold but dry at nights and during the day it can be hot/dusty. We call this the 20 year old freak storm and hope not to see another one of those in another 20 years or more! Also my husband was the one that got so cold he got hypothermia and had to be taken down fron the stage by the EMT, but he got out of the hospital that morning and we still later after some rest do the final finish at Pelona Vista.
We had to make some quick decisions since the roads were not being good to us this year. Also do note Del-Sur was before Spunky Cyn and it had to be set-up by foot 9 miles by our own Michael O'Sullivan.... who is the father of Lauchlin O'Sullivan due to the roads were not good to the regular vehicles in getting up the hills. Yes he did the arrowing 9 miles one way on foot! So that is one of the reason why it took so long and it delayed the start of SPunky.
May the rain gods not come back next year on the rally!
I am glad to hear even though you were cold and miserable, you still had a good time and to come back next year. We would love to have you back...great job under the circumstances. I am so sorry to hear someone hit your car! What a whimp in not saying he/she did it and admit that they need to pay for it! They don't realize it will happen to them and I bet they will be so mad that someone left them with the bill to pay.
THANKS TO ALL FOR COMING OUT AND SEE YOU NEXT YEAR!
