PR: Platypus Racing competes in Thunderhill rallycross

(yes, it's late being put up, so sue me )

The September 28 rallycross at Thunderhill Raceway Park, in Willows, CA, was a disappointing outing for Platypus Racing. Problems related to the new launch control system during the day's second run led to a team decision to retire the car rather than risk serious internal engine damage. The team's chances for a high placing finish were further hampered by a navigational error during the first run through the cone-lined rallycross course. The team is looking forward to the season's final rallycross at Thunderhill on October 25th to continue chasing the series points lead. The results for this weekend's rallycross are available here for your perusal. With the 8th place finish, Platypus Racing moves to a season total of 275, holding on to 2nd place in Open 4wd by 25 points over Greg Montgomery, who promised to be fielding a new car by the season finale. With one event remaining, the 125 point gap to first place in the O4 class means that Brent Blakely has clinched the series championship. Congratulations Brent!
