wow, i don't even know where to begin.first off, street drifting is illegal. and is about as dumb as street racing. rally racing is just that, racing. there are many organizations through out the world that hold races at various places. here in the US we have SCCA Pro rallies, as well as Club Rallies. all the races are held on public to semi private roads, but are closed to all other traffic on race day. rally cars do however use drifting as a means of conering b/c it offers the fastest way through the corner most often.
go to this link to learn a little more. i am not sure how much you know about rallying, but this will help explain better than i can.

rallying is not about drift.
it's due to the low grip level so that the cars slide.
drifting as a pro sport.. it's meant to be a perfoming sport..
they are judged on smoothness and style.. not about speed.
totally different..
people do drift their WRC cars at shows such as the Evo champion meeting or subie meetings .
thats some hardcore crowd pleaser.. just for fans tho.
you should see those tires after a 2 minute session
they can drift the WRC easy cuz of the crazy torque @ 60 KG
and light weight.
otherwise it's really hard to drift a 4wd.
if you are drifting .. you are not winning any races..
initial D is nothing but a fantasy.
two kids in their high 20s was racing/drifting Initial D style in Taiwan.. guess what? died..... fell off this clif..
roflmao!!
funniest **** i ve heard.
can't believe ppl really do that in real life.
not knocking initial D tho.. i am a huge fan.
check out the D1 drifting event in JP if you get a chance..
