Official "what gear you got" thread
seeing as how there are some 'regulars' to this particular forum, just wanted to see what everyone else was running.
im sure there is already probably an official gear thread so post a link below if you know of its whereabouts and delete this particular thread ktia
and i also figure we can use this tread to ask peoples opinions about their gear before another purchase is made

I noticed NIK Software is developing their plug-ins to work with Lightroom, and was interested to know what you think of the program.
Processing here is done on an iMac 2.4 DuoCore with the 20" monitor.
I import everything directly into Aperture, and have the entire NIK Software suite to manage the rest of the work. I have the Master Collection of CS3, but only use Photoshop minimally - easier to keep everything in one program.

How do you like Lightroom?

What are the NIK things you speak of though? And does anyone know if there's a free version of Adobe Flash (like there is GimpShop for Photoshop) I want to try the website template for flash, but my trial period expired a long time ago.

I love Lightroom for organizing and editing. I find it much easier to adjust the curves, saturation, contrast, yada yada yada in it over Photoshop. I only use PS for the frame and signature

Trust me, between Aperture and this complete suite of tools, you'll never bother opening Photoshop for much of anything.
Here's a sample of what can be done in Silver Efex Pro:

Here's the Silver Efex Pro image (same Implied Nude Warning):
Black & White
I did some work with the tone and contrast - although this is just the reference point, and not the final image that's going to be presented to the model.
