January's Photography Assignments: "Communication" and/or "Renaissance"
Please be sure to read the rules before posting your contributions! Muchos gracias
January's Theme #1: Communication
This one is pretty straightforward, whatever you feel depicts communication, or lack there of.
January's Theme #2: Renaissance
It's a new year, time for new beginnings. Therefore I've chosen Renaissance as the second theme, a theme of "rebirth" or starting fresh.
Rules:
Ending Date: January 31st
This isn't a competition, just a themed assignment for those who wish to participate. The only reason there is a due date is to keep the thread from going on and on. Feel free to PM me with options for other themes.
Constructive Criticism
The point of limiting criticism to Constructive Criticism to to keep people from just going "wow, your photo sucks" without offering a means for improvement. You could go "The composition just isn't doing it for me, maybe try moving the subjects face to the left a few inches." It would also nice and helps people receive CC better if you balance a negative with a positive such as "Well the lighting is nice, but the composition just isn't doing it for me, maybe try moving the subjects face to the left a few inches." or "I like the composition overall, but the busy background distracts me from the subject's face.'

I will get started since this is something I am very familiar with.
Pictures taken with my Nikon D80 and Tamron 90mm 2.8 macro lens. Shot at f/5.6 with my SB-800 flash pointing up reflecting against the ceiling. I always set my ISO at about 100 or 200 at the most. Shot hand held. Hope you like.

The Renaissance period was a period of general reformation of beliefs and ways of learning. All you really need to know is that the term literally means rebirth. Like I said, I chose this topic because it is the beginning of the year, and many people use that as a fresh start (hence New Years Resolutions), so you could maybe get a picture of running since exercise is the most common resolution?
