Oh man my photography has much improved since then

Yeah the old train station in Ford Ord is one of the best places to do car shoots. Especially that long stretch of road can make for a good rolling shot.

Funny you mention plates.I've never had issues with it down here in my area(Santa Cruz/Monterey county) but the moment I step into the bay area I get a warning,luckily lol!!

I have a 35mm and I'm not a big fan of the focal length (IMO) With my 18-55mm I find that 24mm happens to be my favorite focal length.

looked around more and yeah that price is kinda high.average price was around $150-175 for a used lens.
