Yeah if you could upload them that would be awesome. I took quiet a bit of portrait shots today and I want to try out some of this stuff. I think it's time for a dedicated portait lens
I went to a local camera store and tried out a Nikon 85mm f/3.5 Macro and it was a pretty neat lens. Also tried out a Sigma 18-200mm but I wasn't really impressed with it. They said within in a few months or so they're going to start renting out lenses so I can't wait for that.

Yup! Color correction and exposure compensation (if needed) I do in LR, and then export as the original file type (when shooting in RAW) and do fixes in PS. I have an action for facial enhancements (teeth whitening, eye white whitening, eye black blackening [pupils], and iris enhancement). I think a teacher who got it from a photography magazine gave them to me. I can put the file up on my server if you want them. You just run the action and then brush it on where you need it (each enhancement is its own layer).
BEFORE (straight from camera RAW converted to JPG)
AFTER (blemish removal, level corrections, 28% skin softening [running skin softening action, brushing it on, reducing layer opacity to 28%... I usually do 40%-50% for women])
EDIT: Yes Mike, I know the background is even! I'm working on getting a third light for a background light. Actually I'm working on getting an Alien Bees B1600 and using one of the B800's as a dedicated background light when needed.

Good job on post over all
I usually toss them (I am SUPER lazy on post).
Meh backgrounds are hard with one light. some times hard with two lights
You have to blow them out enough with the flash but not too much where they throw some light back on the subject. Like if I meter at f11 on the BG and I am shooting at f9, I hold the meter to the back of the subject and make sure its a stop less than f9, if it is more I move the subject away from the wall

I went to the Photo class today and it was pretty cool. Our teacher (Greg Mettler) just went over the extreme basics like aperture and shutter speed.
We made pin hole cameras out of tin cans and it was pretty cool to develop my own picture in the dark room. I haven't decided what film camera I want yet. I want to spring for a Nikon F5 and a 50mm f/1.8.
