A couple shots from Laguna Seca on Sunday. The flame one would of been good to have 12fps on. I finally got a good shot in on it's 6th or 7th lap.

Oh wow, yeah that looks a lot better. It was super bright out so maybe I should get a ND filter.
The Singh-Ray Vari-ND-Duo filter looks awesome. It cost quiet a bit but it's cheaper than buying a CPL and the ND filters separately.

No need. When panning the BG is going to be all blurry any way so just shoot it at f16 if need be.

You can zoom while shooting to make it a bit more interesting.

Another tip for panning is to track the car and follow through.
1) start tracking through the view finder
2) as the car gets in front of you click the shutter
3) continue to follow the car
Pick a spot on the track that gives you a good view of the cars coming towards to and away. I always liked to be between the bridge and turn 6, and I think between turns 9 and 10
