BTW, there was a guy at the family shoot today that was all excited to see I was using a Sony because he has one of the lower end models

I want to get down to reshoot in a building in Ft. Ord, but I'm not sure when, or with who. I also might have a shoot in Gilroy area fairly soon.

KILL IT WITH FIRE!
Agree'd. A good starter macro lens would be the 85mm f/3.5 DX VR Macro. I would recommend the Tokina 100mm f/2.8 but it doesn't auto focus on the D5100.
Also a SB-700 Speedlight is a very good flash.

I applied for an internship at a local photography place. I think Matt knows who he is, his name's Larry Nordwick at Creative Images. They don't need me for taking pictures as Larry does everything himself but they might need some extra help in the back with touch ups in Photoshop and Lightroom.

Can't say I've heard of Larry. The only time I was in tuned with local photographer names was when I was in high school taking photo classes at Hartnell. That was before the average Joe could get a digital SLR and call himself a photographer though.
Made Kramer earn his dinner last night because I wanted to get some experience with the honeycomb grids. I was going to add a background light as well, but after two test shots (without the dog) the capacitor gave out on one the the smaller lights (shut it Mike )
I really need to start working with more human models, they sit still longer for you to fine tune the light

Well anyways I haven't received a call from them yet so I might go check out Scott Campbell tomorrow and see if he'll take me under his wings.
