I have done just my floor pans with on Dynamat Extreme door kit so far. The door kit is only 12sq ft, and was a whopping $100 at Magnolia Hi-Fi!!! BUT, you can get bulk packs of Dynamat Extreme off ebay for around $100 (that's 36 sq ft, 3 times as much).
Like I said, I've only done the floorpans so far, and it made a huge difference. But there is still a lot of noise coming from the doors (gonna do those soon) and the back (trunk I assume). I think its well worth the money. It's a fun install (get to gut the interior! ) And you can actually TALK to passengers on the freeway! I've heard of people using other brands...Brown Bread, FatMat, etc etc. Also this stuff called "Peel and Seal" its roofing material, but I've heard it stinks like tar. And if you're gonna do it, I say spend the extra money and get the best stuff. You get what you pay for. I say go with the Dynamat Extreme!

Sorry for the late response, as far as noise in the car I think that the whole dam car is a rattle bucket thats how they get the car in the 24.000 range. I say do as much as you can it makes the car a much more pleasureable experience, and I dont want to hear it from the weight junkies it's really not that much weight added.... Just make it up with more HP
*I got mine here it's a bit cheaper and just as good
