Official Tacoma Waterfront Scooby BBQ and bennefit show and shine! Aug-30-2003
Here it is folks!
It's official, It's going to be a "show and shine" as well as a BBQ...
Prizes/trophies will be awarded for different "classes" of Scoobys If I get more clubs involved I may add a few more classes for other makes as well, we'll see when it gets a little closer to the actual event date!
There will be trophies for the "best of" and "runner up" in a few classes as well as fun prizes for all the participants! I am in contact with several manufacturers and vendors to get some decent prizes for a raffle too!
All benefits and proceeds will go to: Mary Bridge Children's Foundation!
This is going to be a fun event and hopefully a successful fund raiser! There will be NOTHING required to show up, park or BBQ (BYO Food) but Donations are GREATLY appreciated! I am probably going to have some sort of "mandatory donation" to be included in the actual judged "car show" which would make you eligible for some better prizes as well!
The location is the parking lot behind 2115 N 30th St in Old town Tacoma WA! We will be about 100 yards from the "Ruston Way waterfront"! There are also a couple nice parks and a couple bars/eating establishments within walking distance so fun for the whole family.
I would like to get an RSVP list going as soon as you know that you can come so post your thoughts now!
P.S. a Map and Pics of the actual location to follow shortly! :disco:
Pics of the location and a few cars I saw down there last Sunday

You best get the details worked out like,
How much the manditory donation is going to be.
So this is a BYO BBQ....
Are you going to have Gas grills or we have to bring the cookers also. Can you have grills in the parking lot?
Who is covering the insurance. The owners of the lot?
Can we park in the lot if not in the show?
Is there an open restroom at the lot?
Thanks, Dave

Jeff (and everyone else who made the show a blast),
I'll stick with my "Mall/MTV/Ghetto-Fabulous Vocabulary" for this post, 'cuz I really enjoyed the event (fer sure, it was off the heezy fo' sheezy)! Although I had to leave early, I had an awesome time meeting new people, checkin' out the dope rides (that H2 was blingin'), and chillin' in the sun (idea for next year: BEER GARDEN!!!). It was cool to see other kinds of cars there, and it was for a great cause. I'm positive that Colton and Mary Bridge recognize and appreciate what you've done for them, and I know ('cuz I work there) that Mary Bridge will DEFINITELY benefit from the donations. Everyone's cars looked great (yeah, even the Honduhs, Mitsus, and 'Yotas), and I look forward to next year's Show'n'Shine (keep on keepin' it real, fo' shizzle, mah nizzle). Maybe by next year, I'll have the gumption (and scrilla for some fresh wheels/tires) to enter my hooptie in the show! Word.
Thanks again,
Tim Sweeney
