Car Ownership horror stories...
Mannnnnn...
Mannnn!!!
I just got a second hand blue 2002 WRX less than a week ago at Carter Subaru and i'm wondering how long my poor car will last at the rate things are going. I'm a first time manual transmission driver as well as new driver, so even though i've got the hang of things, there are still the occasional stalls, though i've been able to avoid "grinding sounds".
But in the last 5 days.
1. Added 500 miles. Daily practice driving late at night, plus getting lost when heading to Mt Vernon (gal pal owns the golf course there).
2. Got in a accident. A poor middle aged guy in a '95 Geo Tracker rear ended me on the freeway in stop and go traffic. I was completely stopped, and he wasn't paying attention and he just friggin hit me. He was so apologetic and courteous though... so i put away the baseball bat ASAP,
3. My stock tires got tore up when i drove too near the curb. The side walls were all kinda split and stuff... well, at least i got to get rid of the much hate RE92s in favor for much, much nicer Yokohama S2s
4. Developed a horrible, horrible exhaust problem. Luckily, it was just a cat thermostat that had gotten loose, and after about a day of sweating blood and waiting, the dealer found and fixed it no problem.
5. Got gravel rained upon me. A gravel truck's cover came loose and though i was following a good distance away, my hood still got peppered like mad... Good thing i've got a touch up paint, a rotary buffer etc. here...
SIGH!!!
Has anyone had a more tumutulous "new" car ownership experience?

Not as bad as yours, but still annoying bad
1. Got egged over by the Shilshoe train bridge...hit me on my front bumper and the roof...still damaged and I don't think I'll ever get it repaired.
2. Someone at the Southcenter Outback Steakhouse scraped my rear bumper bad when getting out of a parking spot...cost me a little over $500 to get it repainted.
3. My front lip got caught in a sewer grating and snapped in two. Finally got it fixed a year later.
4. Hit the mother of all potholes in Ballard and bent the lip of my front passenger-side wheel. Not too bad, but annoying enough. Got it fixed at Foster's Wheel Service.
5. While driving my cousin home at 10 pm on a Sunday night a couple weeks ago, someone was trespassing on the Green Lake "Pitch and Putt" golf course and was throwing golfballs at cars...hit me right in the passenger side fender, taking out my sidemarker and leaving a huge dent. Just got my car back fron the repairs yesterday.
All this makes me want to repaint my car gunmetal so hopefully make all this bad luck go away...
