---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just want to share with you guys the first car I've owned. I picked her up on 6/18/07.

Here's the car when I first brought it home and after a wash/wax:

I didn't waste any time on exterior mods. The next day, I did the DIY pink badge. It was easy, but took a while. Basically, I removed the black paint on the badge with some acetone and Q-tips. I used some nail polish to paint it pink.

The day after that, I went to Home Depot and got some garage door liner to make a DIY lip. Not a lot of people make lips for the L bumper and I didn't want to spend a lot. The garage door liner stuff only cost me $8 dollars and then a few dollars for nuts, washers, and screws.

Then a week later, I did the DIY headlights. Basically, it's just painting the chrome insert black. It's fairly straight forward and I posted a DIY in the DIY/How To section on i-Club.

I also installed some JDM mAd TyTe Amber corners I got on eBay. Really makes the BRP paint pop out IMO.

Then I ordered some red Rockblocker film for the rear turn signals. Costs around $20 dollars. Really completes the look.

I also took off the hubcaps so it's just steelies now.

I have some stuff coming in the mail this week so I'll post updates later.

What kind of mods you have in store? What's your goal with the project?

They're mostly going to be exterior/styling mods.

Not a lot of power mods as this car has to last me at least 5 years minimum (college). I have an axleback exhaust coming in this week, and then a DIY CAI tomorrow. Also, I did the grounding mod today.

Just did the DIY Intake today (aka Ghetto Intake Mod, aka Home Depot intake):

It was easy. Some of the hoses were a bit hard to get on, but after that, it's easy.

Results? Great sound, louder intake, smoother acceleration. I kept the torque box on to keep some power down low.

I gotta update this thread more often. My other thread is more active on RS25.com.

Anywho...

I then ordered some Hella 500 Foglights. I had to modify the bumper by cutting out the plastic black pieces on each side of the license plate:

Hey all. Finally got some REAL wheels. Found a set of WRX stockers with decent tires for $200. Threw them on there and they look pretty damn good. I might paint them bronze later on, but for now they're pretty good.

In addition, I put some yellow Rockblocker film over my fog lights. I think the front looks too "colorful" now, but it still looks decent.

Got a few new toys over a few weeks:

eBay sidemarkers. I was kinda saddened by the fact that they're not frosty, but these are pretty nice. I went to Autozone and picked up some LED Amber 194 bulbs. Really sweet.

Also picked up a used WRX 20mm swaybar from a fellow i-club member:
The stock 13mm is a freakin' toothpick compared to this.

great write up and clean car. I like the painting the bronze stockers idea. I think it would look really good. How is the home depot intake holding up? I would imagine the heat from the engine would cause some probs? None?

Amazingly, the intake is holding up real well. The piping just gets a bit loose after a while. Nothing a little liquid adhesive won't take care of.

Only thing that's bad is that I switch it out with the stock intake when it rains hard.
