Toyo does not make a smaller sidewall for that width.
The sidewalls are plenty stiff as they are a DOT approved R compound competition tire. While they look tall, they are typically shaved down to slicks for racing. I get them full tread to get a longer life out of them. 255's might have something to do with the profile as they are only 40 series.

Give Alex (Admin) a PM and he should be able to give you a quote. I think he has a set of Bronze for sale 17 x 8.5 (52 offset) currently.

How much clearance do you have between the tires and the strut or inner fender?

I will get an exact distance from the tire to strut tomorrow. The fronts can rub the fender lining under extreme track conditions. For example: high speed, wheels turned, and rumble strip excursions will rub, but not enough to even hear it.
