Spent the last two days out at Thunderhill with NCRC.
Two Evo's rolled on Saturday, sad sad day. Both drivers and one instructor were ok.
A little rain today made things slippery, but they opened up the skid pad and we got to have a little fun. Here's a few pics. Video to come later this week. Yeah, I didn't bother to avoid the cones after a while.

It was a take off from japan. It had one tiny scratch on the underside. You will never see it while it's mounted.

Does the stripped interior cause any prob's with sharp edges when you are racing? I'd think you could rig up some light grp or carbon panels just to cover the doors or something.

Anyway, great timeline and car. Are you planning on racing in any organized series?

I did reply to your PM, but you did not listen to what I said....

The subs are 8". I am selling the system as complete: Brand New Alpine Headunit w/XM, Mb Quart QSD separates 6.5 and 5.25, Zapco competition 6.0 and 3.0 amps (new), Zapco 3rd Octave EQ's, Zapco SP7 in dash EQ, Custom box/floor piece w/ JL Audio 8W7's (x2), amp rack w/neon, zapco power supply, 5 farad CAP capaciter, and some more stuff I can't remember.

If you are serious about a system of this magnitude, feel free to PM me. This system is not cheap and has been professionally tuned for the WRX sedan. If you are looking for High Fidelity, this is the system for you. You can ask most people at UCKK about how it sounds/looks.

The only time the edges are even an issue is getting in or out. They are not that bad, but I do plan reduce any chance of injury. I plan on doing a weld-in cage, stripping the door skeleton, carbon door cards, lexan for the back two windows and who knows what else.

As far as race series go, there is very little options except for open class. Which has some crazy ish in it. A tuner shootout or time attack might be in it's future though. I built it for "fun" tracking purposes. We just need to get a "Turbo" racing class started...

^^^I'd be interested in your MB Quart 5.25 Separates if you're willing to partially part out the system.

Hackaduct R' Us

I found out at my last track how to reduce the surface temp of my intake pipe from 130 to 80 degrees F. Removing the STi fog cover allowed air to flow into the well and into the engine bay. The only bummer was the fender liner was pushed into my massive slicks and wore a hole through. Eventually the liner ripped out completely. I replaced the liner and made a duct to the intake. I used a Nascar style Nacaduct that are used in lexan windows and bumpers. I formed the duct with a heat gun, trimmed the STi fog cover, riveted the sucker in, painted the duct from the back like a RC car to prevent chipping, used some dryer vent hose, hose clamps, zipties, part of a RS intake, and voila. It might seem crude or hacked to some, but function takes priority over form these days. I will be doing the same to the other side for my oil cooler now. I am also gonna replace the silver tubing with black brake ducting soon. -Enjoy, hate, whatever you want.....
