An I-Clubbers kind of Valentines day.
Made it up to Thunderhill for a T.E.A.M. Racing event today. Shared the track with 10 cars at most at anytime. This was a great opportunity to test out the new Cusco diffs, clutch and gearing. 4xrex, Daredevil, and Soggynuts made it up for the day. There was a bunch of Miatas, a handful of Lotus', VW's, and some others.
It took some time for the diffs to break in. In the meantime, I got some practice at countersteering. As the diffs started to loosen, throttle induced oversteer became more controllable. The car simply flies and can drift with ease now, hehe
The JDM 5/6th gears were much appreciated. Now the shift from 4-5 is smoother and 5th pulls like mad. 5th gear was taching out at just over 125mph. I did not get a chance to run out 6th, so we will have to see in the future.
Cusco Carbon Twin-plate clutch:
Ahh, a clutch that can hold the power and not kill the leg. This clutch is totally streetable. It feels just slightly stiffer than stock. We also replaced the clutch slave cylinder with the 02' version giving better clutch control. The flywheels is lighter and helps with revmatching.
I managed to go off track and kick up some mud part way through the day. Soggynuts was riding shotgun for that run. No damge was sustained and we were both laughing.
Thanks to Max, Erich, and Josh for a great day. Oh yeah, props to Josh and Lindsay for making the trek out for some ride alongs.

Kevin-
I know you changed a bunch of other stuff at the same time but do you think the car handles much differently without the wing?
Give me a call if you still want the vinyl. Otherwise I'll see you at Bozz this weekend?
By the way, looks like your Valentine's Day was slightly better than mine. Just a bit...
