well guys got some great news! the Carina's going into the bodyshop on wednesday and Finally get a fresh, brand spankin new paint job!! can't wait to see the finished product.
While I really wanted to do the paint myself, I really did not have the time, or experience to do the body/prep work. all good though I'll definately be more hands on with the motor, suspension and everything else.

thanks A.V.E. its been a long time coming on this paint job!
they don't make the fender flares but i am planning on buying te27 or ra21 flares and hopefully modifying them to fit.

so quick update guys, body shop says its gonna take about another 2-3 months to finish up the car (yea i know, but its really in bad shape) but in the mean time i picked this puppy up:
planning on rebuilding it from the ground up and boosting it! we'll see how this project goes but I cant wait for the finished product. stay tuned people ill be updating this more regularly as parts start to flow in..haha

correction my friend: homemade turbo and intake manifolds. as for the turbo itself, TD04 just wont cut it. im planning on running some just a tad bigger, something from this selection: http://www.theracingstore.com/index....mart&Itemid=26

so I got a email from the bodyshop, they say the car is about 40% done on bodywork. he estimated it'll take another month or so to finish it off and paint it. as for the motor, its coming along nicely. i ordered some wiseco pistons, hardened pushrods, and eagle connecting rods for it so they should be in soon.

sorry Al STi is on hold till I finish my Carina. goal is to get it atleast in running shape by summer time so i can take a few turns down the strip. STi will be recieving it's new heart next year
