Car Info: 2002 WRX wagon x2
When I got the fast wagon, I made a list of everything I needed to do to it. At first, I made a lot of progress, but it's come to a standstill since purchasing the daily driver wagon. Here's fast wagon's list:

x wiper blades
x hood struts
x washer tank
x glovebox latch
x dash trim
x right front door handle
x wiring in dash
x keyless entry
x drivers window alignment
x trip reset
x replace coolant reservoir and bracket
x intercooler piping
x STi key
x muffler
x vacuum manifold
x relocate FPR
x fuel lines
x battery
x injectors
x JDM grille
x IAC gasket
x bracket for boost controller

rear brake pads and rotors (purchased but not installed)
block heater (purchased but not installed)
APR radiator shroud
diagnose rear washer
replace speed sensor (85082AE000)
replace bad front axle
rear endlinks
rear swaybar
SS brake lines
paintless dent repair
scratch repair
replace AC condenser or ditch AC (can't decide)
SPT oil cap (fo decrashun)
SPT battery tie down (mo decrashun)
35022AG020 LGT shift ****
STi LHD projectors

Lately I've been focusing my efforts on the other wagon, but I never actually made a list. So now I'm going to make a to-do list so I can start checking things off and feel better about myself. I'm going to add a few things that I've already done to the list so it doesn't make me want to cry.

x rebuild engine
x replace clutch
x resurface flywheel
x replace front pads and rotors
x replace broken uppipe

replace downpipe gasket
figure out why the heck my wastegate is stuck closed
tune it once and for all
replace the terrible coilovers with something that won't cause kidney failure
replace foglights
paint Supertones black
replace missing intake manifold nuts (ghetto, I know)
replace trim under steering wheel that's falling out
replace right TGV sensor and get rid of CEL
replace interior carpet
cargo tray
paint undercarriage with rust inhibitor
replace windshield
fix rusty a-pillar
change transmission fluid
change diff fluid
change brake fluid
figure out how to make outside temp display in cluster read properly
replace 10 year-old stock headunit with something that plays my iPod
learn how to stop being such a perfectionist and live with the car the way it is

I did solve one mystery though. I couldn't open source it because both ECUs were definitely locked by previous reflashes. I got a stock ECU and installed an Accessport no problem. I had it tuned by Adam at Revolutions Performance, and he discovered that my wastegate is completely seized shut. The car made 236.6 WHP and 311.9 foot lbs. of torque on 21 lbs. on a 16g, but it's seeing knock and I can't turn the boost down, so now I've gotta figure out WTF is going on.

It's always something.

Hmmm, yes...sorta. I pulled the turbo off DD wagon yesterday to figure out the wastegate issue. Took it to a local turbo rebuilder, and he pulled the wastegate actuator arm and the wastegate opened right up. I guess it must have been hitting on my downpipe and I didn't even think to check it before I drove all the way across town to his shop. So that's actually a huge relief because I was prepared to have to shell out $150 to Blouch for a new hot side. I don't think I can modify my crappy downpipe, so I need to find someone to trade me, or sell me a bellmouth super cheap.

I also got to drive my friend Jenny's '05 WRX sedan around a bit yesterday. It reminded me soooooo much of my old '04 WRX. I seriously miss that car. So here is a tribute to my old car.

The original owner of my daily driver wagon is a good friend of mine. He's living in Korea right now, but he's expecting to be back sometime next summer at the earliest and he REALLY wants to buy the car back from me. I'm thinking I'll hang onto it until then, and when he gets back, I will sell it back to him. Then I'll buy a stock, or mostly stock Aspen White '04 STi or WRX, go stage 2, minor suspension mods, and rims and just call it good. I could drive that car every day for the rest of my life and never get tired of it.

Hi, my name is Kellie and I have a Subaru problem.

You shoulda bought that one that Paul was selling. It was a flat out steal.

We only have 2 subarus so our problem isn't as bad as yours but I do plan to be driving a subaru as my daily driver for as long as possible. I don't like most of the new stuff so I'll rebuild the wagon bigger and better and drive that for another 5 years and see what's out then. LOL.

Nice build or builds I should say. Didn't realize it was your thread till I saw a pic of you pissing coolant on the floor.

I did take it once, about 6 weeks ago. My times were terrible, and my friends are STILL making fun of me. My best was 13.6@118 with a missed shift. I really need to get the launch control set up. Also, one of the front axles is making a lot of noise now, so I need to swap that out, and I'm in the middle of hunting for a house, so I'm trying to avoid any unnecessary expenses. The problem is that I can't stand when my cars are broken, so if something breaks, I have to fix it. If I blow it up, I won't be able to let it rot away in the garage, and I'm not prepared to sink $3k+ into it at the moment...so I just drive it around town a bit, and to meets, and that's about it.

Marc! I was wondering what prompted the Facebook add. Never would have expected to run into you here...I think the last time I saw you, you were still driving that truck. Small world.

Crossed a bunch more things off the slow car's list over the last few days!

x rebuild engine
x replace clutch
x resurface flywheel
x replace front pads and rotors
x replace broken uppipe
x replace downpipe gasket
x figure out why the heck my wastegate is stuck closed
x tune it once and for all
x replace right TGV sensor
and get rid of CEL
x replace interior carpet
x change transmission fluid
x change diff fluid

replace the terrible coilovers with something that won't cause kidney failure
replace foglights
paint Supertones black
replace missing intake manifold nuts (ghetto, I know)
replace trim under steering wheel that's falling out
cargo tray
paint undercarriage with rust inhibitor
replace windshield
fix rusty a-pillar (got an estimate on this one, should be done soon)
change brake fluid
figure out how to make outside temp display in cluster read properly

learn how to stop being such a perfectionist and live with the car the way it is

Ever since I bought the car, the carpet has looked like this:

You couldn't see it under the floor mat, but I knew it was there, and it really, really bothered me. Finally turned to Craigslist, found some STi carpet for $40 and tackled the job today.

It's an even 100 degrees out, so the job was hot and uncomfortable.

But the new carpet looks amazing, so it was totally worth it!
