I am sick of hearing “why don’t you just save your money and buy a new car”

Last night I got to thinking about all the coolant, oil, and fuel lines I have to run to make this all work. Then I thought, what looks better than anodized fittings and stainless steel brad.... that’s right.. nothing!
I got to looking on some of the performance parts companies hose and fittings selections and I couldn’t make heads or tails of the AN standards they use. If I want to use these hoses to replace stock hoses and tap off of stock fittings I need to know ID sizes.
So here is a chart I put together.

Engine wire harness, some assembly required!
I picked up this wire harness in a trade for the coolant cross over. It’s the correct harness but the last owner needed the injector plugs and the left bank crank positioning sensor.
Well it just so happened that I had a full 04 rs harness (incorrect for my 00 RS) that had the injector sensor plugs, one good crank positioning sensor and one crushed one.
Welp, a bit of soldering and shrink tubing I’m good to go. Only thing tricky about the job is the crank positioning sensor had shielded wire, so I had to carefully split the casing, solder together the shield wire, along with the two signal wires, shrink tube the signal wires but not the shield wire, wrap the exposed section in tin-foil and tape the crap out of absolutely every thing!
I love getting stuff accomplished when I don’t really feel up to working on any thing.

more powder coat done.
I used a mirror chrome with a super high gloss over coat. The over coat dulls the chrome into a good looking silver.
the block halfs and heads are next on the list.

Banner day for me!!
Just got the wire and the battery relocation kit I need to do my stereo.
I don’t know what I was thinking; I only ordered 6' rca cables DOH!!
Ah well add it to the list of 'things to buy'. Now I just need some warm weather to get the fiberglass done!

I’m going to beef up the springs, retainers, and cams. I am seriously debating weather or not valves will be needed/worth the extra expense?

Another day another round of parts.
Over the weekend I went to a MOPAR swap meet and ran across this deal
Set of 4 brand new Kumo ecsta 711’s
205/50ZR16 87W
Treadwear: 320
Traction: A
Temperature: A
Speed Rating: ZR
I ended up talking with the guy and he said that he brought these tires to the show for a customer who only had enough money to buy the rims off of him. Because of this he figured he would put them on the floor and see what happens. Well I ended up snagging them for $231 out the door. The will be a smaller diameter than my stock tires but that’s fine, the speedo will say I am going faster than I am, which hopefully will cut down on the speeding tickets!
The plan is to drop the old rims and rubbers with a shop in my area, have them peel the old tires off. I will take the rims and powder coat them (black chrome). After that I will take them the rims and the new tires and they will mount and balance them for me.
This should all go down this weekend!
The drivers racing bucket bracket finally arrived. The original seller never gave me the parts so I got it from some on else.
I got my drivers mirror today as well. Soon I will be throwing pant and the car will look much better.

The center gauge pod just showed!
Nothing like a $12 ebay deal
brand spanking new!!
OK, that’s it.
I am calling this right now.
The spending is getting insane on this!
The money I have spent is all cash from the engine part-out. But moneys getting tight. I am working again which is good, but I’ve had to tap the bank account and the credit to get to that point.
I have to get things straight.
So the only spending I will be doing on the car is going to be to get the role bar, new carpet, fender, and paint. That’s it till its paid off.
So, if any of yall are checking in from time to time, expect very little over summer.

Nice! I had my 6 spokes powercoated a slightly darker than stock silver. I know what you mean about the tires. I got 2 sets of stock wheels 1 with Azenis and 1 with Kumho all seasons that I'm running right now and my car feels a lot sloppier in the corners than before. Keep up the good work.

Yeah I love the kumho's
I think the car looks hot with the improved wheels, even with no wing!
I am now going to turn my attention to the intirror.

That's looking really good, can't wait to see the finished results. I'm not a big fan of wings, but yours just might work out with all the other body parts Get some rear valence too!

I have the stock JDM wrx rear spats, but yes I am thinking of getting a whole new rear bumper.
