Harry Maneuvers Braggin Wagon
Hello I-club.com!!!
My name is Matthew and I am relatively new to the turbo wrx scene. I have had my 99 legacy sedan for 4 years now and have put 92k miles on it. About 8 months ago my girlfriend of 2 years had slowly been hinting towards wanting to get a new car. She was driving a 2005 Chevy Aveo hatch. Once she sat in a wrx wagon... she was hooked.
Next came the arduous task of finding a STOCK wrx wagon in an automatic. It is not like she cant drive a stick... but thinking years ahead in our lives, it just made the most sense. I also knew that by getting an AT, I would subconsciously drive the car softer than if it was a manual.
After months of searching and not finding what we wanted... we finally found one on craigslist in southern california. The seller had owned the car for 6 months and used it to drive from socal to arizona twice a month for work. He was a regional rep for a large outdoors backpack company so he would demo all the products at REI and other locations. After 6 months and 10k miles, he and his wife decided that they wanted something bigger (he ended up getting a 04 outback H6).
This is what it looked like the day we bought it:

Fixed - Pictures up!
Also, anybody know a wrxnefx or something similar? I know this is random but I was trying to diagnose a rising temperature issue (needed new radiator) and I was recording my temperatures while climbing the siskiyou pass coming back from oregon. I think it was the 5th or 6th of July. Anyways, we JUST crested the summit and were coming down the other side when we came around a corner on I-5 and saw debris all over the road...
There was a totaled wrx on the left side (center median) on the highway and a truck with a flatbed that was on the right side of the highway. I didnt put two and two together immediatly but it appears as though he as towing the car on the flatbed and it came loose and rolled...
Fast forward to 2:49 to RIGHT as I start to see pieces all over the road...
Please excuse my incredibly non-compassionate and horribly dry humor as I wasnt really thinking of the guys loss at the time...
Enjoy!

Just got done sandblasting the 4/2 pots with the help of Burnyou2.
Now I just need to figure out how to paint them without taking them apart or painting the 4 bolts that hold them together... Basically I need to "tape off" the bolt heads so that they dont get painted red with the rest of the caliper.
Anybody have any ideas?

Ok so a bit of an update. Not much has happened since last post. I finished the caliper rebuild:
https://www.i-club.com/forums/suspen...d-pics-236053/
Bought EBC blackdash slotted rotors and Hawk HPS pads for the front. Havent bought the same for the rear yet... still need that and the kartboy rear adapters.
Here is a shot of the new Sedan bumper with STi splitters and JDM foglights installed (those are reflections and not scrapes/scratches):
IMAG0594.jpg?t=1321303249
And just last night, I picked up a WRB STi scoop in PERFECT condition along with a matching set of STi foglight covers that are a 9.5 out of 10.
IMAG0598-1.jpg?t=1322339108
The guy I bought them from was rolling around in this beauty... the overall apperance of his ride was actually pretty impressive... considering it is an Xb.

hahaha well I drive from Sacramento to Portland about 6 times a year so I would want them covered in case some debris got kicked up.
It would be a sad day if those got cracked or chipped.
