I've seen this car in person and the modified wing looks nice. What he did was take the top half of the stock STi wing off (it's a two piece wing) and bolted in custom made caps. For track days he can simply bolt the stock top half back in and he's good to go.

It's an innovative option for someone who can't stand the attention but doesn't want to deal with the 18 holes in the trunk lid or swapping trunks with someone.

Here's a good read on the benefits of the wing and which portion does what: https://www.i-club.com/forums/subaru-general-30/how-crucial-wing-85084/

Hey Egan,
Thanks for support! I will tell all of you that with the cop magnet gone my car is not noticed hardly at all and the goofs w/ the "super wings" are not sure what this is. Granted it is not for everybody but it is a clean solution to a vibrating wing that is for the most part non functional and creates a huge blind spot. If I want to be noticed I can just put it back on in 5 mins. and I would say try that with an entire trunk swap. As for you guys that do not like it, thats cool, everybody is entitled to their opinion, but you are the first subies guys that have not liked it. And probably yes, I live in the north state so sf and sac are possible that it was me.

I don't hate it, but I don't love it. It would great if we had a "shorty" piece that went to each wing pillar but was set very low on the pillars, basically just enough to make a turn in the fiberglass to go to the other side.

Somebody needs to p-shop a "height removed" STi wing.

The same way your car rides better when you put stockers back on, the extra sidewall is a cushion against harshness of road conditions.

I pretty sure he means rides better not handles better.
