The Evolution... of my 98 Impreza wagon
Okay, I'll share too- [not that anyone asked... ]
1998 Impreza Outback Sport- bought in late summer 2002 w/ a little over 100K mi. I was originally looking for an acura or nissan, but I decided I wanted something different, and the awd intrigued me.
In high school- my first priority was a sound system- So I gutted the interior, dynamatted everything, and methodically installed the system I still haven't gotten tired of to date...
It consists of:
Infinity kappa: front 6.5 components/ rear 4" 2-ways in the doors/ seperate rear tweeters (in pillar between rear door window and rear quarter window)/ 12" DVC sub
Rockford Fosgate: 150.1 punch power mono amp/ 200.4 punch miltichannel/ digital top 1-farad capacitor/ speaker/power wire/rca's
Sony: MDX-8970 minidisc deck/ 6-disc CD changer
Here's a shot of the car before any major mods (just some clear lamps and cheap foglights) and one of what lurks beneath my cargo cover.

Phase I: stereo/aesthetics
...as pictured above, I cleared the corners, marker, and bumper lights, and installed a stereo. Under the hood, I didn't want to lack spark, so I got some 8.5mm magnecor plug wires and threw them on along with new plugs. I also found a new color-matched upper spoiler on ebay for <$100, and got a set of OE wrx rims (also ebay) to clean it up a little. I guess you could call phase I of my mods"phase Ebay
RF batt. terminals, magnecor wires, iridium plugs installed:
Rear upper spoiler, wrx stock wheels/tires slapped on:

Phase II: Bolt-on performance
After dabbling a tad, I really got the mod itch, and started shooting for safety/performance upgrades for freeway driving (which I do alot of).
Rallitek intake, custom-fabbed fiberglass heatsheild/ spt strut bar installed:
winter arrived, got some studless snow tires (toyo observe Gr-2 plus) and put them on my OE 15" steelies, and fitted a brasier (they grow up so quick!):
Sti RA (sedan spec.) springs, kyb GR2 struts/ goodridge lines installed:
freshly lowered stance:
painted calipers, pads/rotors installed:
Borla single-port header, Custom catback (2.25in w/ 30in. resonator, dual-tip muffler), Kartboy hangers installed (props to Mike's Muff. Advantage for the smooth, solid catback install):
The latest addition: Anthracite Prodrive P7s/ Potenza RE750s:
Unpictured mods: Noltec front endlinks
Kartboy rear links
FHI 18mm rear sway

Phase III: paint/body/rebuild or swap
...still to come... someday...
A while back, I managed to have some blind old f*ck back out of his garage and into my car parked on the opposite side of the street. I took the check from the insurance company and figured if I would ever want to fix it, I should wait until I got a paintjob to save $$$ by doing both at once. If I do get this done, I'll also most likely step up to the RS front end to top it off. And now, at >140K miles and climbing at a steady pace, I'll have to consider whether painting a body holding such an old engine is worth it... enter: ej20 swap
now I'm really dreaming... haahah
On the other hand, I've had virtually zero engine problems since my purchase a few years back- so who knows how long this 2.2 beast will last.

I think the spoiler I got came with the tape. It was two long strips of double-sided foam tape- about an inch wide. I think 3M makes some that would be just as good if not better. And the color match was perfect. It has the hint of red pearl and looks like an original part of the car.
did you already know there are some on Ebay right now?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33638
looks like 109 painted + 15 for pearl---> you may be able to get it for 29 and get it painted cheaper elsewhere...
I appreciate the comments

While I'm here- here's an update on my near-future plans: (tentative, as always)
-swap steering wheel w/ nice WRX bits
-re-cover door panel inserts (zebra on acid's had it.)
-track down some local used WRX or RS front seats
-ricify my front end with some custom mesh and modified fog covers
-maybe get new gauges (the reverse halo's are getting annoying- and I'm not in high school anymore )
Then I'll finally be ready to post some front seat interior shots...

I wish I wouldn't have found them (at tire rack) - then maybe I would have had extra incentive to do the disc swap.
I really don't think that a disc swap would work any better than the drums I currently have. Without changing the hard-lines and abs pump, you wont get the hydraulic pressure that the discs need to work up to their potential.
That brings me to another aesthetic mod idea I've been pondering: painting my drums a matte steel color to make them appear as rotors. Now that I've got bigger wheels, the brakes definitely stand out more- I could even paint stripes and dots and they'd be drilled/slotted!!!! (J/K on that part )

Also: I have talked to my local muffler shop about fabbing a cat section similar to the random tech or stromung models- so add that to the 'future plans' list...
...or were you just trying to get all the black 98 wagons to the top?

That's great news. Congrats. Just checking if there's anything new and to get the BDP wagons to the top.
FYI, there's an ebay seller selling STi replica wagon spoilers right now.

Check this out, isn't this what are looking for? I'll look for a part # for a WRX AT brake pedal.

*** gea.... I want that.
The man took a quarter of my first paycheck, but I changed my W2 and he ain't getting any more, that slimy bastige. Here's my updated list of what I'd like to do in the near future:
WRX steering wheel
WRX seats
WRX pedals (A/T- if dis foo^^^ can find them)
Tint (20-35%????)
High-flow cat-pipe to finish off exhaust
...but I'm debating which of the last two should come first, cause the other might have to wait.
