Box truck totaled my 02 WRX
Six months after buying my 2002 WRX, I got run off the road by a box truck, taking damage to my back right and front left. Well, now I guess I'll wait a few months and get a 2004.
The airbag didn't go off (it shouldn't have, so that's good), and I walked away with minor soreness that left after a few days.

woah!
He hit you HARD! Glad you're okay!
Good job keeping the shiny side up when you went off the road like that.
I used to drive a box truck, much like that one, everyday, delivering party supplies. I couldn't drive it through town without my mirrors aimed just right.. I tried to be very very careful about lane changes and always performed them slowly just in case. One day I almost clipped someone (despite looking twice and moving slowly. It was pretty sobering.

The insurance company totaled the car? Granted it looks bad but not bad enough to be totaled. Must have lots of unseen damage to it. Too bad you got to wait for either the '04 or to get your '02 fixed.
wrxstiman how about eliminating the caps. Caps indicate yelling.

I'm thinking I'll wait 'til the 2004 WRX comes out and buy then. I guess I get a new hood look then, but I hear "under the skin" the 04 is like the 02 and 03.
The guys at the autobody shop had this pale look like, "That car was yours? Are your kids OK?" Good thing I was the only one in the car.
As for how much damage was actually done, all the doors were "off" indicating frame twistage. Also I went in to the autobody shop and expressed my concerns about the car being "fixed" but not really. I think maybe it helps to make your preferences known, in case there's some room in the estimate.

gald your ok dude!! And trust me you'll be alot happier if they right it off, that car will never be the same again. I was in an accident with my 2000 RS and i chased after the body shop for atleast a year in half later bcs it still wasn't fixed right, when it should've been writen off.....anyway that car is gone now and in the hands of a happy new owner, now that every thing has been sorted out with it. Good luck with the 2004!!
