I get a much faster start than manual WRX's.... You need to lock the brakes and let the torque converter do it's work.....
If you hold down the brake... while in neutral... and rev to 4k.... your brake will create a vaccuum seal.... keep the brake down, put the car in drive.... if the car is warm enough, you'll hit about 3.2k RPM... ... by doing that.... a stock WRX will easily do 5.5-6 for 0-60

nice and den you will get bitten by a stick bug ... you should get a 6 spd sti tranny, it's not that much trouble, i probably commute more than you and i drive a stick 04 wrx :P
