i have a greddy evo ONE. it's not stainless steel but it does have TWO resonators. rated at 92dB with all cats. i had it measured when catless, and it was at 95dB which still passes the sound rating. let me know if interested, 325 cash.

i just hate the fact that chp and local pd are getting nuts over this ****.i got a ticket, yes me.from vacaville for exhaust and tint.so yah, they are def cracking down.i cant believe the misinformation that gets slung here.
as long as the OP understands that there really is no exhaust that will keep him from getting a ticket he will be ok.the ones i know they look past are cobb, spt, perrin and borla.hell, theres a couple chp that sit on redtop and the overpass leading into vacaville with binoculars

cobb is pretty quiet but expensive. I have the TBE Cobb with a cat, even when I punch it its not all that loud at all.

I have heard from multiple LEO's that basically they will cite you, there's not much you can do about it. I've been researching the entire code for the last few weeks and I can see no direct reference to any/all non-OEM exhaust being explicitly illegal.

However there is no CARB approved exhaust other than OEM for any Subaru, so I suppose all aftermarket exhaust is in violation of CARB rules and officers may have been instructed to cite all non-OEM exhaust under that particular code section.

I know it's near impossible to get your head around this issue as I've found so much conflicting evidence but basically I think that if you're running any NON-OEM exhaust you run the risk of getting a fix-it ticket you have to fight in CA.

Edit: This is my source for the statement "There is no CARB approved NON-OEM exhaust for any Subaru"
http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/aftermk...es/amquery.php

Edit^2: There's an interesting post about california laws and easy reference for different violations over on this site:
http://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=165444
so your argument is that they will cite you even if the exhaust is under the legal limit (therefore, legal) so therefore it is illegal. Guess what! They'll cite you for the stock STi exhaust on a stock STi. So by your logic, the sock STi exhaust is illegal

If you get cited for a loud exhaust you go get it tested. If its under the limit, you're all good

Don't go with a newer Cobb (cheap quality compared to the originals), SPT (really doesn't give you much better flow than stock when compared to after market ones, and not that much sound coming out of it compared to stock). The single tip borla is not quiet like the dual tip hush.

if you want a cheap system that flows very well, looks pretty stock and that i wouldnt pull you over for, here you go.the only extra part you will need is a set of kartboy XL hangers.2 of my friends have it and love it.
in the thread i posted you can see many pics of the system, how it sounds and how to purchase.they guy ships very fast.yes, theres a small issue with how it sits but that is easily fixed.and for a system than only costs 210 shipped to your door i would jump on it.

Actually my argument is that parts that aren't CARB approved are illegal regardless of wither or not there's a corresponding vehicle code violation.

where does it say though that parts after the smog control device/emissions device have to have a carb number though?

god i hate stupid drivers. . .side shows? what tha hahah. . .. . . what system are u running on ur truck?

- On my suby I have an exhaust perrin dual tip. . . .its pretty loud after 3K rpm, but not so bad when I'm under. I've been fortunate not to ever receive a fix it ticket. I've had 3 CHP surround me one time, and I waved hi, and they all took off. But, then again, rarely drive hard in my car.
